LINDENHURST, NY — A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Lindenhurst early Tuesday morning, Suffolk County police confirmed.
The crash was reported at about 4:27 a.m. near Sunrise Highway and North Indiana Avenue, police said.
The pedestrian died following the crash, police confirmed Tuesday afternoon. Police did not immediately release the person's identity or provide additional details about the circumstances of the crash.
Sunrise Highway was closed for a time following the incident but has since reopened in both directions, police said.
Police have not released a description of the vehicle involved or information about a possible suspect.
