The Amityville boys soccer team also earned a spot in the top 10 of the United Soccer Coaches Fall Boys Region II rankings this season.

Abbondondolo credited the program's success to a team effort, recognizing longtime collaborators Chris Gannon and his father, Mike Abbondondolo Sr., for their contributions to building and sustaining the program.

"Reaching 200 career victories is an extraordinary accomplishment and a testament to Coach Abbondondolo's dedication to our student-athletes and the Amityville soccer program," Superintendent of Schools Dr. Gina Talbert said. "While the wins and championships are certainly worth celebrating, what makes his impact so meaningful is the lasting influence he has had on generations of students. Through his leadership, our student-athletes have learned the importance of teamwork, perseverance, discipline and striving for excellence both on and off the field. We are incredibly proud to celebrate this milestone with him."

Following the victory, players and coaches celebrated the milestone with a signed commemorative soccer ball and framed artwork honoring Abbondondolo's 200 wins.

"Coach Abbondondolo has built a program that represents the very best of Amityville athletics," Director of Athletics Evan Farkas said. "His ability to develop players, build strong teams and maintain a culture of excellence year after year speaks volumes about his leadership. Two hundred victories is an incredible achievement, and we congratulate him on this well-deserved milestone."

With another competitive season underway, Abbondondolo and Amityville are looking to make another run at a state championship.
