Armed Man Tries to Rob Lindenhurst Gas Station
In a separate incident Wednesday night, a man dropped a gun and drugs in the road, triggering a manhunt in North Lindenhurst.

A man with a gun tried to rob a Lindenhurst gas station Tuesday night, police told Patch Thursday.
The man, described as about 5-foot-7, entered the Ultra Gas Station located at 571 West Montauk Highway at about 8:23 p.m., displayed the gun and demanded cash, police said.
The employee did not give the would-be robber any money and the men fled, police said.

In a separate incident Wednesday night, officers observed a “suspicious male” crossing Sunrise Highway at Straight Path in North Lindenhurst around 10 p.m. The man dropped a gun and drugs and fled from police.
Local residents told Patch that cops swarmed the area and told residents to stay inside their homes and lock their doors while police searched for the man.

No arrests have been made in either incident.
