Arrest Made In Amityville Train Station Slashing: Police
A 53-year-old man was arrested after slashing another man at the LIRR station Friday morning, police said.

AMITYVILLE, NY - A Copiague man was charged with slashing a man with a knife at the Amityville LIRR station on Friday morning, according to Amityville Village Police.
Officers responded to the ticket office at the train station after receiving a call of the incident at about 5:23 a.m.
Responding officers then found and arrested 53-year-old Dennis Rembert at the ticket office vestibule, police said.

The man who was slashed was treated for a superficial wound at the scene.
Rembert was later released into the custody of MTA Police.

He was charged with second degree assault, fourth degree criminal possession of a weapon, seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and resisting arrest, police said.
