Babylon Adoptable Pet Of The Week: Lil John

AMITYVILLE, NY - If you're looking for a new companion, consider starting your search at a local animal shelter like the Town of Babylon Animal Shelter.

One of their available pets is Lil John, a 6-8 year old large male Bullmastiff mix.

Lil John came to us in very rough condition; he looked like he had been through the wringer. John's skin has been healing and considering he had open bleeding sores when he came in, he now looks wonderful. John is a strong dog on walks, but with training, he has made much improvement and he responds well to "leave it" and "walk" when his mind wanders to other things. John has acclimated to the shelter life and adjusted with the daily attention and training exercises that he has gotten. Even though Lil John isn't a pup, he can sometimes show his pup side and be a little mouthy. Once John has a relationship established with his new family, he will be an excellent student and family member. Lil John has done well with his preliminary cat testing, but a home would cats would need to go slow to judge that transition. John has also had good reactions to young people, but with his size and energy level, monitoring would be needed.
