Candlelight Vigil To Be Held In Lindenhurst For Aluska Family
Diane Aluska died on Mother's Day after she saved her daughter's life.

A candlelight vigil will be held Friday night for the family of Diane Aluska, who was fatally struck by a car in Lindenhurst on Mother's Day.
The vigil starts at 7 p.m. at the Village Gazebo located at the corner of North Wellwood and East Hoffman avenues.
Donations for the family will be collected. Food and drinks have been donated and will on sale with 100 percent of the proceeds going to the family. Diane Aluska, 55, was walking with her 16-year-old daughter Jenna on Wellwood Avenue Sunday morning when they were struck by a 2005 Toyota Corolla that was backing out of a diagonal parking spot.
Police say Diane Aluska, a mother of three who worked for the Town of Babylon, pushed her daughter out of the way of the car at the last second, saving her life.
