Cat, Bird Rescued From Amityville House Fire

AMITYVILLE, NY - A bird and a cat were rescued from an Amityville home during a fire early Tuesday, according to the Amityville Fire Department.

The blaze was reported at a Ketcham Avenue home at 4:30 a.m.

The fire was located on the back deck of the house with minor extension to the house.

While crews worked to extinguished the fire, other firefighters went inside to remove the pets from the home.

No injuries were reported. The blaze was put out within an hour and the scene was turned over to the fire marshals.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
