Cocaine, 3 Illegal Handguns, Sold To Undercover Officer By North Amityville Man: DA
The investigation tied the man to repeated cocaine sales and handgun transfers in Central Islip and Bay Shore, the DA says.
NORTH AMITYVILLE, NY — A North Amityville man was indicted on 1st-degree criminal sale of a firearm and multiple felony drug and weapon charges after selling cocaine and loaded handguns to an undercover police officer during arranged meetups in Central Islip and Bay Shore, Suffolk County District Attorney Ray Tierney said.
Nicholas Greaves, 31, was charged with 1st-degree criminal sale of a firearm and 3rd-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, along with several related weapon possession counts, Tierney said.
According to the investigation, between March 2025 and May 2025, Greaves made six separate cocaine sales, Tierney said. On each occasion, an undercover officer contacted Greaves to arrange a purchase, and Greaves directed the officer to locations in Central Islip or Bay Shore, prosecutors said. After the officer arrived, Greaves sold a quantity of cocaine, the DA said.

In April 2025, the undercover officer inquired about purchasing a handgun, Tierney said.
Between April and May 2025, on three of the six occasions, Greaves also sold the undercover officer three loaded and operable 9mm semi-automatic handguns, the DA said. The firearms included a SCCY CPX-2 9mm handgun, a Taurus PT 111 G2 9mm handgun with a large-capacity ammunition feeding device, and a defaced Taurus G2S 9mm handgun, prosecutors said.

Greaves was arraigned Feb. 13, 2026, before Acting Supreme Court Justice Anthony S. Senft Jr., Tierney said.
At arraignment, prosecutors said Greaves was charged with 1st-degree criminal sale of a firearm, 3rd-degree criminal sale of a firearm, 2nd-degree criminal possession of a weapon, 3rd-degree criminal possession of a weapon, 3rd-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, and 3rd-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance across multiple counts.
Justice Senft ordered Greaves held on $200,000 cash, $400,000 bond, or a $2,000,000 partially secured bond during the pendency of the case, Tierney said.
Greaves is due back in court on March 11 and faces 5 to 25 years in prison if convicted on the top count, the DA said. Greaves is represented by the Legal Aid Society. A request for comment was not immediately returned.
“Our officers put their lives on the line every day to keep these deadly drugs off our streets,” Tierney said. “This indictment demonstrates our unwavering commitment to dismantling the flow of illegal guns and drugs in our community.”
