Copiague Deli With 13 Code Violations Shut Down: Police
Police found that the deli owner and employee were gambling and drinking alcohol in the store.

COPIAGUE, NY - A Copiague deli was shut down on Friday night after officers discovered the business had 13 violations and found the owner and another employee gambling and drinking alcohol in the store, Suffolk Police said.
Suffolk County Police arrested three people after conducting State Liquor Authority (SLA) inspections on February 9 in Copiague.
Officers conducted a SLA Inspection at Dixon Deli and Grocery on 670 Dixon Avenue at 9:25 p.m.

Three people were arrested during the inspection including the deli owner, 44-year-old Rosa Marmol, of Copiague, a deli worker, 59-year-old Arleen Melo, of Copiague, and a patron, 24-year-old Yosy DeLeon, police said.
Marmol was charged with two counts of disorderly premise, promoting gambling and possession of gambling devices, police said.

Melo was charged with seven counts of off premise beer/allowing consumption of beer on premise; possession of untaxed cigarettes, police said.
DeLeon was charged with seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, police said.
The Town of Babylon Quality of Life Task Force issued 13 combined Building, Fire, and Code Violations to the owner.
As a result of the violations, the establishment was condemned and closed.
