On April 15, second grade students at Daniel Street Elementary School in the Lindenhurst Union Free School District took part in a grade level spelling bee. The students qualified to participate after winning first or second in their class bees.

Students took on many complicated words with confidence. After several rounds, only two contestants remained, Dylan Simicich and Uliana Melnyk. In the end, Uliana emerged as the winner by correctly spelling “perfume.”
