Daniel Street Elementary School Welcomes New Principal

The Lindenhurst Union Free School District welcomes Kimberly A. Boccanfuso to
her new role as principal of Daniel Street Elementary School.

Boccanfuso has dedicated her career to the Lindenhurst Union Free School District
where she held the titles of secondary English language arts teacher for 16 years, and
coordinator of English Language Arts (K through 12) since 2016. She also took on the
responsibility of directing the Saturday SCOPE Enrichment Program during the 2019-20
academic year.

During her time as coordinator of English Language Arts, Boccanfuso coordinated
the successful implementation of the Capstone program, including seminar and research,
allowing students to develop skills in research, analysis, evidence-based arguments,
collaboration, writing and presenting. Additionally, she created a digital platform where
the ELA department could house, access and share teaching resources directly correlated
to student/teacher success.

A lover of learning, Boccanfuso has earned Post Master’s Advanced Certificates in
School Building Leadership and School District Leadership from The College of Saint Rose,
Albany, a Master of Science degree in education from Queens College, Flushing and a
Bachelor of Arts degree in secondary education from Hofstra University in Hempstead. Her
thirst for knowledge has also led her back to Hofstra University where she is currently a
student at the doctoral level.

“My service to Lindenhurst for the last 18 years has been (and will continue to be)
my life's work," said Boccanfuso. “As such, I am eager to transition into my new role as the principal of Daniel Street Elementary School as this new opportunity will continue to allow
me to work alongside an excellent staff, a cooperative community, and families who are
dedicated to providing students with opportunities for growth and academic success.

Historically, Daniel Street School is a place where students feel cared for, loved and
respected. I look forward to continuing that culture both within and outside of the school.”
The district extends its congratulations and is confident that Kimberly Boccanfuso
will excel in this new role as she has in her previous positions within the district.
