Dressing Down to Bring Breast Cancer Awareness Up in Lindy Schools

Staff members take part in Lee National Denim Day.

To kick of Breast Cancer Awareness month, the members of the Lindenhurst Middle School and McKenna Administration Building took part in the Lee National Denim Day.

For seventeen years, members of staff have demonstrated their support for the cause.

During this nationwide event, organized annually in Lindenhurst by teacher Lisa Nelson, staff members joined the “Denim Day Team” by donating $5 to the cause and wearing jeans and pink ribbon pins.

All money raised went to the American Cancer Society to be earmarked for research towards finding a cure for breast cancer. The total amount raised was nearly $1,000
