A neighbor hired a man to cut a branch, fix a hole and trap raccoons. The fellow came and did just that. He repaired a hole in the roof that they say was made by raccoons and cut a large branch which was thought to be the ingress and egress for the raccoons. The man also, for several days AFTER repairing the roof, and cutting the branch, trapped several raccoons. I inquired as to what he would be doing with the raccoons. He said he takes them " out East" and sets them free. He wouldn't be specific as to where or provide any further details. I'm concerned because here we are several weeks later and he is still trapping raccoons. The older lady in the house for years was feeding the local wild and feral animal populations and now the " trapper" is using the same food to bait the raccoons into cages.
I'd like to know if he can keep trapping the raccoons as they seem to no longer pose a "threat" of any kind. This morning The " trapper" showed up around 11:30am, with temperature having risen to 81 degrees, to retrieve this nocturnal animal.
