Eighth-Grade Lindy Students Moving on Up to High School

Congrats!

The sun shone brightly as the eighth-grade students of Lindenhurst Middle School celebrated the culmination of their hard work and took steps forward in their academic experience.

The students took part in a special moving up ceremony in which they reflected upon their accomplishments and looked forward to their next steps as high school students.

Principal Frank Naccarato, Board of Education trustee Kevin Garbe and Superintendent of Schools Daniel E. Giordano addressed students, congratulating them and sharing with them some words of wisdom.

The superintendent spoke of new beginnings and endless possibilities as the soon-to-be freshman make their way to the high school. He shared a short story of five wise men lost in the woods and explained how if they each stay true to themselves, as the wise men had done, they too will find their own way.

Various students were recognized with awards including the New York State Comptroller’s Award, the Attorney General’s Triple C award and the Lindenhurst Suffolk Zone Outstanding Physical Education Award.
