4th Annual Long Island Run for the Warriors

The Town of Babylon and Councilwoman Ellen McVeety will be hosting the 4th Annual Long Island Run for the Warriors.

The race will wind through Town of Babylon streets with distances of 10k, 5k, and 1 mile. This event has been steadily growing in popularity since its inception, with nearly 2,000 participants in last year’s race. A ceremony will be held at 9:00 a.m. before the race to honor our heroes. The race will kickoff at 9:30 a.m.

The opening ceremony will honor and recognize the sacrifices of local combat-wounded service members and Gold Star families. The American Celtic Bagpipe Band, the U.S. Marine Corps Color Guard, the U.S. Naval Color Guard, and local, state, and federal public officials will be part of the ceremony.

Run for the Warriors has been put together by a great organization called Hope for the Warriors, whose mission is to enhance the quality of life for US Service Members and their families who have been adversely affected by injuries or death in the line of duty. The Town of Babylon will be hosting the run with Hope for the Warriors to help raise money for this worthwhile cause. More information about this event can be found at www.hopeforthewarriors.org.
