Free Yoga Workshop for Breast Cancer Survivors

Yoga is an ancient science that teaches how to unite body, mind and spirit through the practice of movements and postures coordinated with breathing techniques. Yoga may help increase strength and flexibility, raise energy levels and promote peace of mind. Participants learn gentle movements to free your joints, yoga postures and adaptations appropriate for each at her starting place, breathing techniques and guided relaxation.

The workshop is taught by Bonnie Millen, MA, RYT. PTA, who has been teaching yoga for 20 years in private, community, therapeutic, and university settings. She is a NYS registered physical therapist assistant with experience in orthopedics, rehabilitation, and pelvic floor dysfunction. Ms. Millen has studied anatomy at New York University and Nassau Community College and energetic anatomy at the Ohashi Institute. She is an AFFA certified personal trainer, holds a masters degree in Dance Education and teaches Kinesiology for Dance and Hatha Yoga. Ms. Millen is a breast cancer survivor.

Participants should wear comfortable clothing and bring a mat or firm blanket and bottled water.
