Fire Fully Engulfs Detached Garage Of Amityville Home
The fire was starting to spread to the home when firefighters arrived early Monday morning.

AMITYVILLE, NY - No injuries were reported after a blaze fully engulfed the garage of an Amityville home early Tuesday, according to the Amityville Fire Department.
Firefighters responded to reports of a house fire on Prospect Street at about 1:30 a.m.
The fire started in the detached garage fire and was beginning to spread to the home when firefighters arrived.

Members of the Amityville Fire Department began an attack on the garage while the others made their way into the house to the second floor where a fire was located.

The blaze had made its way to the second floor bathroom and bedroom before it was under control.
The cause of the fire was not disclosed.
Mutual aid was provided by the Copiague, Massapequa and North Amityville fire departments.
