Former LI School Custodian Filmed Child Sexual Abuse, Pleads Guilty: DA

LINDENHURST, NY — A former Lindenhurst school district custodian pleaded guilty Friday to filming himself sexually abusing a child and sharing the material with others, Suffolk County District Attorney Ray Tierney said.

Brian Woehr, 41, pleaded guilty on Sept. 25 to two counts of use of a child in a sexual performance as a sexually motivated felony, both felonies, prosecutors said.

Woehr is expected to be sentenced to 17 years in prison, followed by 15 years of post-release supervision, according to the district attorney’s office. He was also ordered to register as a sex offender.

The investigation began April 30, 2025, when the Suffolk County Police Department’s Digital Forensics Unit received a tip from the New York State Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, prosecutors said.

The tip concerned multiple images depicting child sexual abuse that had been uploaded to a local Google account, according to the DA’s office.

Investigators executed a search warrant at Woehr’s Lindenhurst home that same day and seized his cellphone, prosecutors said.

A forensic examination of the phone uncovered videos and images that Woehr had produced and shared, according to prosecutors. The material depicted Woehr sexually abusing a prepubescent child, the DA’s office said.

Woehr was arrested at his home.

He entered his guilty plea before Acting Supreme Court Justice Karen Wilutis.

Woehr is represented by attorney Timothy McNulty, who was not immediately available to comment.

“The admitted actions of this defendant are deplorable,” Tierney said. “Children deserve protection and trust from the adults around them, and Brian Woehr violated both in an unconscionable way. He has now pleaded guilty, and my office will ensure he is held accountable.”
