German Shepard Found Abandoned, Tied To Tree In Amityville: SPCA

The Suffolk County SPCA is offering a $2K reward for information leading to an arrest.

AMIVYILLE, NY - The Suffolk County SPCA is looking for whoever left a dog who was found abandoned and tied to a tree in Amityville earlier this week.

The male German Shepherd was discovered on New Horizons Boulevard near the Town of Babylon animal shelter at about 7:20 a.m. on Tuesday.

After he was discovered, the dog was taken to a veterinary hospital by the Babylon Animal Shelter for evaluation.

The SPCA is still waiting for results to see if the dog had any injuries. His exact age has not yet been known but detectives determined he is an adult.

It has not yet been determined how long dog was left abandoned. SPCA detectives are currently investigating.
