Irene E. Brennan, Mother of Lindenhurst Mayor, Dies at 89

As Lindenhurst rang in the new year, one long-time resident passed: Irene E. Brennan, mother of Mayor Tom Brennan.

Mrs. Brennan, wife of the late Joseph W., died on New Year's Day at age 89. 

She is survived by two sons, Thomas A. (and his wife, Diane) and William (and his wife, Grace).

She was also grandmother to Kristen Dorner (and her husband, Howard), Sharon Ferriso (and her husband, Dustin), Joseph, Ryan and Tom (and his wife, Antoinette). And she was great-grandmother to Ben, Declan, Camryn and Logan.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday and Thursday, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at , at 424 South Wellwood Avenue in the Village.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at Breslau Cemetery in Lindenhurst.
