Lighthouse Is on the Menu for LI Restaurant Week

Lindenhurst Marina eatery, Lighthouse on the Bay, is offering price fixe deal, along with a great view of the Great South Bay.

Don't shut down that marina for the winter just yet. Restaurant Week on Long Island has brought some spring-like temperatures, and the folks at hope it brings some customers in for a meal down by the water.

The two-year-old eatery down by the Lindy docks on Wellwood Avenue is one of many restaurants participating in Restaurant Week, but the only one in Lindenhurst. The decision was a no-brainer, according to Lighthouse manager Elizabeth Stankard.

"We thought it was a great idea. It gets our name out [there]. It's a good, little promotion," Stankard said. "I don't know why other places [in town] aren't doing it."

"It's a great view, fresh food, good prices, [and] we're local, a great family place," Stankard said.

"There was no damage, but we lost power for the week, we lost all our food, and were closed for a week," Stankard said.

They're open now, and available for private parties, happy hour and, of course, for a meal out at a local Lindy venue, even as the temperatures drop, and the marina quiets down for the winter.

"The view, the food, location...it's quiet, friendly [people]," said Jim Anderer of Cold Spring Harbor, listing why he's a regular at the Lighthouse.
