Lindenhurst Elementary Returns To 100% Capacity

On Nov. 4, after six months of closure and two months of a hybrid learning model, the Lindenhurst Union Free School District happily welcomed back it's elementary students at 100% capacity. Once again, classrooms were filled with students donning masks, but thrilled to be back together with friends and faculty.

The increase in capacity was the result of the strict adherence to safety protocols coupled with the enhanced use of masks and desk barriers. The remote learning program will still be made available to families who are uncomfortable with a full return to school at this time.

“The safety and well-being of our students and staff have always been at the forefront of our decision making,” said Superintendent of Schools Daniel E. Giordano. “We are grateful to the members of the community who have shared their input and remained patient as we worked through the reopening process.”

On Monday, Nov. 9, the district will increase capacity at the secondary level from 25% to 50%.
