Last Friday, the Class of 2014 officially became the newest Lindenhurst High School alumni.
With proud family and friends looking on and the high school band performing “Pomp and Circumstance,” the students made their way to the Edward F. Kienle Memorial Field in a procession led by the Lindenhurst School District’s administration as well as faculty and members of the Board of Education.
Class Vice President Jacqueline Guerra Sara led the salute to the flag and made welcoming remarks, and the senior members of the high school chorus sang “The Star-Spangled Banner.”

In a final act of unity, the soon-to-be graduates approached the podium as their names were called and received their diplomas from members of the Board of Education. As a sea of green and white caps filled the sky, the graduates and audience members celebrated a special moment together.
