Sheyla Santos Collado Recognized for Academic Talent in National Merit Competition

Lindenhurst High School senior Sheyla Santos Collado has been recognized as a Commended Student in the 2025 National Merit Scholarship Competition. The honor is bestowed upon seniors who have shown exceptional academic talent and hard work.
The National Merit Scholarship Corporation identifies academically talented students across the United States based on their outstanding academic records, involvement in school activities, and performance on the Preliminary SAT and National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.
Out of 1.5 million students nationwide who entered the competition for the 2024-2025 school year, Sheyla is among just 34,000 to receive the Commended Student designation.
