Lindenhurst High School Senior Receives Writing Honorable Mention

Lindenhurst High School senior Aliya John recently earned the title of honorable mention for her submission “Bracing For the Future: A Literature Analysis on the Solutions to Economic and Personal Restrictions Caused by Environmental Regulation in the U.S.” to the Stony Brook Young Investigators Review, undergraduate research journal from Stony Brook University’s, writing competition.

A letter from the university to Aliya stated, “We commend you on putting in the time and effort to research a scientific controversy, digest the topic, and present it in a novel and comprehensible form for the public. The act of research is in itself incredibly difficult, but the act of synthesizing that information for those not in the scientific community is one that many professionals today find difficult. To be able to submit a completed entry to the Young Investigators Writing Competition is a feat that deserves much recognition.”
