Abandoned and foreclosed properties often become eyesores and nuisance problems with neglected landscaping, debris build-up, structure maintenance issues, the release said, and can even become an attraction for squatters.
According to the release, 97 homes in the Village of Lindenhurst are currently in mortgage default.
As part of the program, banks must register their contact information for homes in default on their mortgage. ProChamps staff will then research, identify, and contact the responsible parties.
ProChamps will create and maintain a register of the foreclosed properties, the release said, and village code enforcement can then utilize its web-based interactive data base to communicate directly with the responsible parties.
