Lindenhurst Memorial Day Parade Set For May 30

Residents can come out and support the groups marching, and then take part in a ceremony afterward.

LINDENHURST, NY — Lindenhurst will celebrate Memorial Day on May 30 with a parade through the town, followed by a ceremony.

The Annual Memorial Day Parade sponsored by the Veterans of Foreign War - United Veterans Council will begin at 8 a.m. and start at Breslau Cemetery. It will then head west on Newark Street, south on Delaware Avenue to Charles Street, to Fireman’s Park and the Fire Department placing of the wreaths.

The parade route will then proceed to Wellwood Avenue south, to the World War I Memorial for a ceremony and wreath placing. It will then go towards Village Hall for the final services of the day.

The parade will feature marchers including veterans groups, student bands, firefighters, police and more.

The Lindenhurst Memorial Library and the Kiwanis Club of Lindenhurst, NY, Inc. are also looking for volunteers to help place flags on graves in Breslau Cemetery on Thursday.
