Lindenhurst Middle School Bulldogs Go The Extra Mile

On Nov. 1, the Lindenhurst Middle School physical education department welcomed many students, staff and community members who took part in the “LMS Students Go the Extra Mile" fundraiser virtual run/walk. Participants were asked to make a monetary donation and then walk at least one mile in support of the cause either remotely or physically at the middle track.

“We wanted our students to do something that would not only get their bodies moving, but would also help some of our local families get through these difficult times,” said Maureen Sconone, Lindenhurst Middle School physical education teacher.

On the day of the event there was a wonderful turn out and coupled with those who chose to walk remotely, the department was able to raise approximately $2,700 to benefit members of the community who have been experiencing difficulty.
