Lindenhurst Middle School Celebrates Mardi Gras

Eighth graders discussed traditional Cajun and Creole food and the history of Mardi Gras.

Students of Christin Mansfield’s eighth grade Global Foods class at the Lindenhurst Middle School recently explored the blended culture of New Orleans. Students listened to classic Dixieland Jazz music, discussed traditional Cajun and Creole food as well as the history of Mardi Gras. The lesson culminated with students making beignets from scratch.
