Long-Time Lindenhurst Residents Pass Away

Recent deaths in Lindenhurst include the following:

Janet M. Madlon
Madlon, of Lindenhurst, passed away on June 2. She was 85. She’s survived by her children Eugene (Ruth), Douglas (Janet) and Marie (Jamie) Simmons. She’s also survived by her brother Albert Mann, plus nine grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Her funeral arrangements were under the care and direction of Lindenhurst Funeral Home.

Daniel E. Dunn
Dunn died on June 2. He was 84. He’s survived by four generations of nieces and nephews.

Dunn was a United States Army veteran, as well as a member of the Knights of Columbus, Fourth Degree, and the Elks Lodge.

Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on June 6 at Saint Andrew Avellino’s Roman Catholic Church. Interment followed at Mount Saint Mary’s Cemetery.

His funeral arrangements were under the care and direction of the Lindenhurst Funeral Home.

Barbara Parker
Parker, formerly of Lindenhurst, died on May 30. She was 66. She’s survived by her husband Stuart, as well as children Lisa (Richard) Saggio, Marlo (James) Migliorisi, Joseph (Terry) and Dan (Erica). She’s also survived by her sister Loretta Makovy and 10 grandchildren.

Religious services were conducted on June 3. Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on June 4 at . Interment followed at Calverton National Cemetery.

Her funeral arrangements were under the care and direction of the Lindenhurst Funeral Home.

Evelyn Ellis
Ellis, of Lindenhurst, passed away on May 15. She was 92. Ellis was married and very close to her late husband Sidney. She was also the devoted mother of Lane S. (Diane) and adored grandmother of Deanna.

Visitation was held on Friday and Saturday, May 18 and 19. Cremation was private.

Her funeral arrangements were under the care and direction of the Lindenhurst Funeral Home.

Louis R. Poveromo
Poveromo, a Lindenhurst native, passed away on May 12. He was 91. He’s survived by his children Glenn, Helen DiMartino and Tina Garofalo. He’s also survived by his siblings Mitzie Brien, Michael, Paul, as well as nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Poveromo was a former school board member and Suffolk County Referee rules interpreter Hall of Famer.

Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on May 15 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. Interment followed at Breslau Cemetery.

His funeral arrangements were under the care and direction of the Lindenhurst Funeral Home.
