Lindenhurst School Budget Results Are In

Lindenhurst residents headed to the polls Tuesday to vote on a school budget and elect board members.

Lindenhurst residents approved the district's $160,671,302 proposed budget on Tuesday by a margin of 1231 to 691.

The budget represents a 1.03 percent spending increase over the current year and a tax levy increase of 3.68 percent.

In the vote for Lindenhurst Board of Education members, incumbents Mary Ellen Cunningham, Kevin Garbe and Donna Hochman, who ran unopposed, were re-elected. Cunningham received 1,347 votes, Garbe received 1339 votes and Hochman received 1287 votes.

The seat previously held by Trustee Edward J. Murphy, Jr., who resigned earlier in the year, will now be held by Josephine Martino who received 1036 votes to Gabrielle Anzalone’s 747 votes.
