Lindenhurst Schools Releases Community Survey for New Superintendent

Richard Nathan is retiring at the end of the school year.

The Lindenhurst Board of Education has begun its search for a new superintendent, voting to enlist the aid of Western Suffolk BOCES in the search process. 

Western Suffolk BOCES is experienced in this process, which will be led by Dr. Michael Mensch, Deputy Superintendent, and Paula Klingelhoefer, Executive Director.

Community and staff members are asked for their input through an online survey through March 1, 2014. Areas such as rating the importance of a potential candidate’s qualifications and personal characteristics, as well as his/her abilities and experience with school staffing, instruction, board relations, district operations and finance will be polled. The survey can be accessed by clicking here or a copy can be picked up at the District Office or at the Lindenhurst Memorial Public Library.

Recruitment efforts will be extensive, with interested candidates submitting application information. Interviews are expected to continue through several rounds which will conclude in May. The Board of Education will seriously consider the community survey results in their selection of the new superintendent.
