Lindenhurst Student Is A Voice Of Democracy
Student Brooklyn Ratel came in second-place in the VFW Voice of Democracy Essay Contest.

LINDENHURST, NY - From Lindenhurst Public Schools: The Wade-Burns Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7279 recently recognized Lindenhurst High School student Brooklyn Ratel for her second-place winning written contribution to the VFW Voice of Democracy Essay Contests. The student essay reflected the theme, “Why My Vote Matters,” and stated that “The children of America are the driving force that is shaping our country’s future by the second… I am confident that my vote will matter because my voice, including others of my generation, carries the weight of America’s future.”
A ceremony was held at the VFW Post in Lindenhurst honoring the winning students. Local politicians, administrators and educators attended the event to applaud the students’ efforts as students were awarded with medals, certificates and monetary awards.
