Lindenhurst Students Triumph at Team Challenge

Lindenhurst brought home the award for the most team total sit-ups in 10 minutes as well as the trivia award.

Students of the Adelphi physical education class at Lindenhurst High School recently took part in the New York National Guard – High School Team Challenge. Adelphi physical education teacher Janine Cheskay put together a team of 20 students to compete in the following five events:

  • Push-ups (entire team total over 10 minutes)
  • Sit-ups (entire team total over 10 minutes)
  • Rock wall climb (entire team for quickest time)
  • HUMVEE push (five-person team comprised of three male and two female students)
  • Trivia Competition

The day was a huge success and the students of Lindenhurst represented the district with incredible sportsmanship and a tenacious intensity. Lindenhurst brought home the award for the most team total sit-ups in 10 minutes as well as the trivia award.

In addition to the trophies won for the aforementioned events, the New York National Guard rewarded participating districts with a participation plaque, school banner and National Guard gift bag for all competing students.
