The Lindenhurst Union Free School District wishes to extend its congratulations to teacher Milliza Longo-Lewis, who has recently been awarded the 2020 Region Art Educator of the Year for Region 10. According to Cheryl Schweider, New York State Arts Teachers Association Awards and Honors chairperson, “By honoring her with this award, her professional peers are acknowledging her outstanding service and commitment to Art Education.”

Ms. Longo-Lewis’ achievement was recognized during the Region 10 “This is Art 2020” virtual conference in Nov.
“She plays an important part in the lives of the children and young adults in the district, and is helping to shape their future,” said Schweider. “Her dedication and enthusiasm for the arts and for her students should be celebrated.”
