Lindenhurst Teacher Recognized As ‘Bright Light'

Congratulations to Jeanette Walsh!

From Lindenhurst Schools: Lindenhurst’s Harding Avenue Elementary School teacher, Jeanette Walsh, was recently recognized by the Association of Suffolk Supervisors for Educational Technologies as a Bright Light Award recipient. The Bright Light award recognizes educators who integrate technology into the lessons and create an excellent learning experience for students.

“Jeannette Walsh effectively integrates technology not only in her classroom, but in her after school club, the Book Café, to the parents of her students and through sharing her innovative ideas to her colleagues,” said Principal Brian Chamberlin. “Her tireless work allows her colleagues, parents and administrators to reinforce critical reading skills through the use of technology. Her use of technology allows her to gear her instruction to meet the individual needs of each of her learners. She makes her reading activities more exploratory, interactive and visual to meet the needs of all of her learners.” Lindenhurst Union Free School District is honored to recognize Ms. Walsh as an ASSET “Bright Light” recipient.
