Lindenhurst UFSD French Students Score High Locally, Nationally
More than 68,000 French students nationwide took part in the National French Contest.

In spring 2020, several French students from Lindenhurst Union Free School District took part in the National French Contest remotely sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of French.

More than 68,000 French students nationwide took part in the competition and several Lindenhurst students placed in the top 10 in Suffolk County and in the top five nationally
Grade 7 (at time of test):
Natalia Kazimierczyk - first in Suffolk County and fifth nationally.
Isha Garcia - fifth in Suffolk County.

Grade 8 (at time of test):
Arthur Chrzanowski – first in Suffolk County and 3rd nationally.
Keira Murphy – eighth in Suffolk County.
Julia Wlodkiewicz - eighth in Suffolk County.
Maria Avlonitis - ninth in Suffolk County.
Grade 9 (at time of test):
Lauren Walker - fourth in Suffolk County and fifth nationally.
Under typical circumstances all of the students placing in the top 10 in Suffolk County would have been invited to the American Association of Teachers of French chapter's annual awards ceremony. However, due to the global pandemic, this could not occur. The district wishes to extend its congratulations to all of these talented students.
