The Lindenhurst Union Free School District is pleased to welcome Richard
McAllister as coordinator of English Language Arts.

McAllister began his career as an English teacher at Elmont Memorial High School in
the Sewanhaka Central High School District. From there, he went on to serve as an assistant
principal at Northport High School where he remained until accepting this new role in
Lindenhurst.
He holds his Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study in School Building and School
District leadership from the College of Saint Rose. Additionally, McAllister has obtained a
Master of Arts degree in English literature and a Bachelor of Science degree in adolescent
education from St. John’s University.

McAllister resides in Wantagh with his wife, Danielle. They are expecting their first
child, a baby boy, later this year. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with loved ones,
traveling to new places with family, reading, and relaxing at the beach or on the golf course.
"I am thrilled to join the administrative team in Lindenhurst,” said McAllister. “I look
forward to partnering with the district's stakeholders in welcoming our students back to
school."
