Lindenhurst Woman Drives Drunk, Crashes With 9-Year-Old Son In Car: Police

BREAKING: Her 9-year-old son suffered minor injuries in the crash Saturday night, police say.

A Lindenhurst woman faces a felony DWI charge after she crashed her car with her 9-year-old son inside late Saturday night, police said.

According to Suffolk Police, Roxanne Simonetti was driving a 2012 Jeep Liberty north on Centre Avenue when her vehicle veered off the roadway and struck a pole in front of 154 Centre Ave. around 11:15 p.m. Simonetti’s 9-year-old son was in the vehicle and suffered minor injuries. He did not go to a hospital and was released to a family member, police said.

Simonetti, 49, is charged with aggravated DWI with a child Passenger 15 years old or younger–a felony under Leandra’s Law, DWI and endangering the welfare of a child. She is scheduled to be arraigned Sunday at First District Court in Central Islip.
