LMS Celebrates World Cultures for International Day
Students Showcase Over 40 Countries in Special Annual Event
Lindenhurst Middle School recently celebrated a number of the world’s cultures at the school’s International Day. More than 200 seventh and eighth graders represented more than 40 countries at this special annual event.
Students set up booths that showcased different countries from around the world. The booths featured trifold presentations, models of major monuments and buildings, photos and memorabilia, and traditional foods from their chosen countries. Many booths also featured music and demonstrations of traditional dances.
Lindenhurst Middle School staff and visitors were able to then cast their vote in several different categories for their favorite displays. Winning in the Best Trifold category were Morgan Long and Erin Sertesen for Turkey and Catherine Ogilvie and Daria Tetlak for Poland. Winning in the Best Food category were Samit Akand for Bangladesh and Alessandra Liranzo and Alyssa Scott for the Dominican Republic.
