A 26-year-old man was taken to the hospital after being assaulted in Lindenhurst early Wednesday, Suffolk Police said.
According to police, the man was walking on South Wellwood Avenue near Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church when another man approached him and pushed him to the ground before striking him with an unknown object at about 1:53 a.m.
The victim was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center for treatment of lacerations.
