Man Charged With Burglarizing 9 Suffolk Homes: SCPD

The 29-year-old was caught after a year of burglarizing homes in the area, police say.

LINDENHURST, NY - A Lindenhurst man was charged on Tuesday with burglarizing nine Suffolk homes over the past year, according to Suffolk Police.

Following an extensive investigation by detectives, 29-year-old Keith Makowsky was located and arrested on West Sunrise Highway in Lindenhurst at 1 p.m., police said

According to police, he committed nine burglaries in the past 12 months at the following locations:

  • 798 South Wellwood Avenue in Lindenhurst on April 22, 2018
  • 772 South Place in Lindenhurst between July 1 and August 11, 2018
  • 133 Lane Street in Lindenhurst on August 4, 2018
  • 815 Surf Street in Lindenhurst on November 11, 2018
  • 33 Sea Bay Way in Kismet between March 25 and March 29, 2019
  • 912 Pacific Street in Lindenhurst on April 7, 2019
  • 465 Putnam Avenue in Lindenhurst between April 7 and April 22, 2019
  • 314 Richmond Avenue in Amityville between April 13 and April 14, 2019
  • 115 Brown Place in Lindenhurst on April 15 2019

Makowsky was charged with five counts of second degree burglary, four counts of third degree burglary and one count of fourth degree criminal possession of stolen property.

He will be held overnight at the First Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on April 24.
