Man Critically Injured After Being Struck By Car In Copiague: PD
The 50-year-old man was struck while crossing the street on Sunday night, police say.
COPIAGUE, NY — A pedestrian was critically injured after being struck by a car in Copiague on Sunday night, according to Suffolk Police. A 21-year-old Massapequa woman was driving a 2015 Nissan Altima westbound on Sunrise Highway, at the intersection of Decker Street, when the car struck a 50-year-old male pedestrian in the roadway at 9 p.m., police said.
The pedestrian, whose identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip in critical condition. The driver was not was injured. The Nissan was impounded for a safety check.
