Man Injured In Copiague House Fire Dies: PD

Ivory Dean, 67, was taken to the hospital in critical but stable condition after a fire in his Copiague home but later died, police say.

COPIAGUE, NY — A 67-year-old man critically injured during a fire at his Copiague home Sunday has died, Suffolk County Police said.

According to police, a call came in at 2:50 p.m. on Sunday about a fire in a home on Deauville Boulevard. The Copiague Fire Department responded and entered the house to find Ivory Dean unconscious.

He was taken to Nassau University Medical Center in critical but stable condition, police said, but later died. Dean was the only person inside the house at the time of the fire, police said.
