Man Killed In Lindenhurst Crash: PD
A 57-year-old man was killed early Friday morning, after his vehicle struck a car in Lindenhurst, police say.

LINDENHURST, NY — A 57-year-old man is dead, after his vehicle struck a car in Lindenhurst early Friday morning, Suffolk County Police said.
Robert Favichia of Copiague was driving a 2001 Dodge pickup truck eastbound on Montauk Highway at 5:37 a.m., police said, when his vehicle struck a 2009 Mack truck that was backing out of an alley in front of 51 Montauk Highway.
Favichia was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip where he was pronounced dead, police said. The driver of the Mack truck was not injured, police said.

The Dodge was impounded for a safety check, police said, and the Mack truck was inspected at the scene by officers from the Motor Carrier Safety Section.
Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to contact the First Squad at 631-854-8152.

UPDATE: A previous version of this story stated that Favichia was 67. Police later confirmed with Patch that he was indeed 57.
