Man Robs Lindenhurst Bank

Police investigating Saturday afternoon robbery.

Police are searching for a man who robbed a Lindenhurst bank Saturday afternoon.

According to police, a man entered Capital One, located at 300 South Wellwood Ave., near Lindenhurst Middle School, at 12:07 p.m. and handed a teller a note demanding cash.

The teller complied and gave the man cash from the drawer. The man then fled on foot northbound on Wellwood Avenue.

The robber was described as white or Hispanic, about 5-foot-10 with dark hair, facial hair and a medium build. He was wearing jeans and a black long sleeve shirt.

The investigation is continuing and anyone with information on the bank robbery is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.

It’s the second time this year the Lindenhurst Capital One has been robbed.
