Men Steal Taxi in Lindenhurst After Assaulting Driver

A taxi driver was taken to the hospital after two men assaulted him and stole his taxi early Sunday morning in Lindenhurst, police said.

According to police, the driver picked up the two men at the McDonald’s located at 221 Sunrise Highway around 2:25 a.m. The men struck the driver and then stole the vehicle, which was later recovered.

Police did not have info on where exactly the assault and robbery occurred, but they said the taxi driver looked for help on Webster Avenue.

No arrests have been made.
