"Lindenhurst was very empty back then, all the stores on Main Street were closed it looked like a ghost town," she said.
With the whole revitalization happening in the downtown area and with her son starting kindergarten, Bopp thought this was a good time to open her shop.

She previously worked at a coffee shop in Bay Shore but is now hoping to bring some of her Brazilian roots to the village.
"I love people and I love getting to meet people and I can't wait to get actually get involved in the community and get to know everybody," she said. "I also want be involved in this change, this revitalization that's coming up in the village and I want to participate and help improve the village."
Muni's is actually named after Bopp's son Benjamin, whose nickname is Muni. The coffee shop is expected to be a small, cozy place where people can get together.
"I want people to feel like they're home," Bopp explains.
She plans to offer different flavors as well as traditional coffees and espressos. Muni's might also be offering crepes and acai bowls for hungry customers.
Local residents are already excited for the new coffee shop to open, since options are limited in the downtown area.
"Through social media I can tell that people are very into getting a place like this in town," Bopp says.
She noticed that people missed the former coffee shop, Spoon, which closed its store on S. Wellwood Avenue around 2011.
An official opening date has not yet been announced.
