One Dead, 1 Hurt in Overnight Shooting in North Amityville

NORTH AMITYVILLE, NY- Two men were shot, one fatally, in North Amityville early Thursday morning, police said.

According to Suffolk Police, First Precinct patrol officers responded to Glenmalure Street at 2:17 a.m. after a 911 caller reported a possible shooting. When officers arrived, they discovered two men had been shot in the street in front of 95 Glenmalure Street.

One of the man, 21-year-old Malik Abdullah, of North Amityville, was pronounced dead at the scene. The other man, a 21-year-old from North Amityville, was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
