Copiague Blaze At Storage Unit, Dumpster Sparks Investigation

Police are currently investigating why a storage unit went ablaze on Sunday morning.

COPIAGUE, NY — Suffolk County police are currently investigating why a storage unit and dumpster went up in flames early Sunday morning in Copiague.

At about 12:30 a.m., officers received a call that a dumpster and building were on fire at Collegiate Storage and Rental, located at 700 Oak St, police said. The location was near, but did not directly occur at a Valero gas station, police said.

The Copiague Fire Department, as well as the Lindenhurst, North Lindenhurst, North Amityville, and Amityville Fire Departments, raced to the scene, police said.

No one was injured, police said.
